left Seminole Tribe Emergency Evacuation Shelters

Emergency Evacuation Shelters should be utilized as the shelter of last resort. When you and your family do need to go to a shelter, make sure you bring the following items: bottled water, snacks, prescription and emergency medication, extra clothing, pillows, blankets and other comfort items, hygiene supplies, and cash. Additionally, special items for children and infants, such as diapers, formulas and toys, should be brought and other special items for family members who are elderly or disabled.

Special Needs Shelter
Currently the Special Needs Shelter is the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood or Tampa depending on the projected path of the storm. Tribal members who are eligible for rooms in the Special Needs Shelter are patients who have medical equipment which requires continuous power i.e. tube feedings pumps, oxygen concentrators, specialized hospital beds or people who require continuous oxygen.
Other patients who have current medical conditions which the Health Department is aware of are, reviewed on a case by case basis to determine if there is a need to place the person in the Special Needs Shelter.

The Health Department has a Pre-registration Form for Special Needs which every tribal member needs to complete, so the Health Department will be aware of any special needs and determine services needed. The Health Department will check on the identified Special Needs patients prior to the storm to make sure all needs are met and immediately after the storm, when conditions are safe.
