Mission
At the Department of Emergency Management, our goal is to effectively serve the entire Seminole Tribe community by preparing for emergencies, both natural and technological, through innovative planning. We accomplish this by working closely with all members of the Tribal community and by offering numerous programs to inform both residents and officials on preparing for and surviving emergencies and incidents.
Programs
The Department provides training, activities and events that focus on public safety. Free presentations on preparedness for tropical storms and hurricanes are now being scheduled for all tribal communities. A listing of these dates and times will be announced soon and posted at our webpage.
Another upcoming activity that is being developed is free training for individuals interested in joining the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). After completing both classroom training and exercise activities, CERT members will be able to assist others in their communities after an incident or event when first responders are unable to immediately help. A schedule of these classes will be announced and posted at our webpage. For additional details about CERT, please visit the CERT homepage at http://www.citizencorps.gov/cert/
For more information on the upcoming hurricane preparedness sessions and CERT training, please contact your Emergency Management Coordinator for the community in which you live.
